When Le Concorde was built in 1974, the 29-story concrete structure aroused controversy because it supplanted 19th-century Victorian homes. But the hotel's excellent location—on Grande Allée, dotted with cafés, restaurants, and bars—has ensured its longevity. Celebrity guests have ranged from the Rolling Stones to President George W. Bush. Rooms are larger than average, with good views of Battlefields Park and the St. Lawrence River. Nearly all rooms combine modern and traditional furnishings.

If you want to be near the bars and clubs, this is a great spot. It's also only 10 minutes walk from the Old Town. There is a beautiful park - Parc Jeanne d'Arc - right next to it. The elevators could use updating, but the rooms are large and comfortable with great views of the city.
