Castle Hill National Historic Site

Castle Hill National Historic Site Review

Just north of Placentia, Castle Hill is what remains of the French fortifications. The visitor center has a "Life at Plaisance" exhibit that shows the hardships endured by early English and French settlers. Performances of Faces of Fort Royal, a play about the French era, take place from mid-July to mid-August (call for times). There are hiking trails from the forts and many lookouts on-site.
