Victorian Hotel
At a Glance
- great location for the price
- helpful staff
- clean
- comfortable
Pros
- location near the "rummy part of town" a few blocks east. It's relatively safe (honest), but common sense says you would probably take a cab to the door after midnight rather than walk

Victorian Hotel Review
Budget hotels can be handsome, as in the gleaming hardwood floors, high ceilings, and chandeliers at this prettily restored 1898 European-style pension. This is one of Vancouver's best-value accommodations—guest rooms in the two connecting three-story buildings have down duvets, Oriental rugs atop hardwood floors, lush draperies, and period furniture; a few have bay windows or mountain views. Some of the private bathrooms are outfitted with marble tiles and granite countertops (though some have a shower and no tub). Even the shared baths are spotlessly clean and nicely appointed. With three queen beds, room #15 is a good choice for families.

Letsfaceit, from usa
I don't understand why this hotel is on the Fodor's choice list. I stayed 3 nights at the Victorian based on Fodor's choice and I regret it. The staff is rude, not helpful at all and have an attitude. In the afternoon, young women are at the reception and play games on the computer so, do not disturb...
The 1st room we got was so noisy all night long, I did not get any sleep. We were changed to another, nicer remodeled room to have some workers banging in the room next door from 7 am to 5 pm !
The hotel is noisy in general with thin walls. You can hear people walking on the hard wood floors day & night. As far as breakfast, I can hardly call it by that name. It's toasts or bagel with yogurt and granola that they keep uncovered on a shelf in their office night & day.
