Fodor's Review

From the moment you step off the busy streets into Casa Lecanda's cool lobby, you're wrapped in European grandeur; wrought-iron chandeliers and antique furniture pay tribute to a bygone era in Mérida's most luxurious boutique hotel, while the photographs of the modern-day city bring you back to the present. This fully restored home seems custom-made for romantics. The pool, which serves as the property's focal point, sits beside a patio of suspended hammocks. Each room

is unique, though beds with fine white duvets and spacious bathrooms with glass-enclosed rainfall showers are standard; the two top-floor rooms have private balconies—the perfect spot to drink your welcome tamarind margarita. The restaurant serves some of Mérida's best meals.
