El Mesón Oaxaqueño

Fodor's Review:

This storefront restaurant is right off the zócalo, so it's surprising that it doesn't draw more tourists; rather, it's popular with locals who come for the steaks. If you're hungry you can opt for the buffet; otherwise, order à la carte from the many taco options. For a sugar fix, have a cup of Oaxacan hot chocolate and a slice of nut or cheese pie.
