Staying in this neighborhood full of restaurants and nightlife yet away from the gritty historic center might be just the ticket. But location is just one of the many virtues of this gracious mansion. We loved the spacious rooms, the hunting-lodge-like sitting area with fireplace, and a candlelit, tree-shaded garden that will make you want to book an extended stay. Private dinners in the garden can be arranged in advance and make for Guadalajara's most romantic dining. Pros: Great location, understated elegance, inviting patios. Cons: Steep service charge added to your bill.
