Blue Angel Resort Review

A complete makeover in 2009 has turned this small diver-friendly hangout into a real gem. The setting is ideal, with a quiet boatyard on one side and a private business on the other. The small property feels secluded, almost like a home, which is how guests who return several times annually feel. Rooms have been updated with bright orange, yellow, and blue walls, new beds and linens, and powerful showers. All have balconies or terraces with hammocks and racks for drying dive gear. A small lawn fronts the pool, tiny beach, and pier where dive boats depart. Snorkeling is great right offshore. The on-site restaurant has been expanded with a menu of tasty dishes and tables on a second-story deck overlooking the water. FYI: longtime guests still refer to the hotel by its old name, Caribe Blu.
