On sunny days in high season families and revelers surround the enormous pool at this all-inclusive hotel located close to town; activity directors enliven the crowd with games and loud music. The scene is quieter at the beach club, accessed via a tunnel that looks like an underground aquarium, but there isn't an actual beach, just a rocky shoreline. The large rooms are reminiscent of a moderate chain hotel, with cool tile floors, comfy beds, and bathtub-shower combos.

We found our first 2 stays to be very enjoyable. The hotel is in an ideal location, about 10 minutes walk to San Miguel, or a $3.00 cab ride. We found the rooms to be quite comfortable and spacious. The only drawback was that the beds are very firm, basically a matress on a concrete slab. After reading reviews of several hotels in the area, I've come to the conclusion that this is normal, as most travelers comment on the "hardness" of the beds. The rooms were very clean, and were serviced every day during our stay. The food at the 3 restaurants was plentiful. The quality and variety is somewhat limited, but there are so many fine dining places within a short ride that you should never go hungry. We found the staff to be very helpful and courteous. If you take the time to learn a few simple phrases, it will go a long way in making your everyday activities much more enjoyable. On an overall scale we found our vacation here to be an excellent value. Consider what you would get if you booked a 7 night stay almost anywhere in the U.S. for less than $1000.00, and I think you'll agree
