THE Royal Playa del Carmen Review

If you're looking for the royal treatment, this is the place, from butler service and iPad check-in to in-room Jacuzzis and liquor bars. Ordinary-sized rooms are tasteful and well-equipped with king beds, Bose speakers, iPods, and minibars (included) stocked with snacks. The pleasant spa offers temazcal treatments as well as separate steam rooms, saunas, and whirlpools for men and women. Despite the no-children policy, the pool area can get rowdy. The Uxmal and Chichen buildings have the quietest rooms. Swim-up rooms have clever pool entries from the sliding doors; book ahead.
