When to Go
This side of the country has less distinct rainy and dry seasons; rains are more evenly spaced throughout the year. Ironically, June and July, when the rainy season is getting underway in the rest of the country, are the driest months in the Caribbean region. The best time to visit is November-December, when temperatures are most tolerable. It's best to avoid the region during March and April, when the heat is dizzying and farmers burning their fields in preparation for annual planting leave the skies thick with view-obliterating smoke.
