Getting Here and Around

The park area includes the communities of Uvita, Bahía Ballena, and Ojochal, all easily accessible off the Costanera, a wide, paved highway now officially called Carretera Nacional Pacifica Fernández. As soon as you get off the highway, however, the roads are often bumpy and dusty. Alternatively, take a taxi or bus from Dominical. Eight buses leave Dominical, starting at 4:45 am until 5:30 pm daily, and there are longer-haul buses that pass along the Costanera and can drop you off in Uvita. Each of the park's four sectors, open 7 to 4, has a small ranger station where you pay your $6 admission.
