La Puerta del Sol Review

Facing a formal garden with sculpted shrubs and a lovely, small pool just two blocks from the beach, this tranquil enclosure of stylish suites has modern, airy, Mediterranean-style guest rooms shot through with hot, tropical colors. Each room has high ceilings, plenty of windows, and gleaming white tiled bathrooms. King-size beds roost atop adobe platforms, whereas single beds nearby double as sofas by day. Coffeemakers and hair dryers are welcome extras here. A new second-story suite has its own terrace overlooking the garden. There are various pet cats prowling in the garden, including a pure white one with blue eyes. There's no on-site restaurant, but authentic Italian cuisine is just a few blocks away at La Dolce Vita. A major plus here is the covered parking area, which helps keep your car cool.
