Guanacaste and the Nicoya Peninsula Restaurants

Ristorante Marco Polo

  • Italian

Updated 04/14/2014

Fodor's Review

They came, they saw, they built a whole Tuscan-style village and imported a chef from Italy to cater to a demanding Italian clientele. Marco Polo, the main restaurant at the Villagio Flor de Pacífico mega-development of red-roof villas east of Potrero, serves properly al dente pasta with homemade sauces and a dozen different wood-oven pizzas. Crusts are thin and crispy and salads are organic and fresh. They also serve more substantial dishes such as grilled tuna, chicken cordon bleu, and tenderloin with a béarnaise sauce. Save room for the panna cotta, of course.
