Playa Puerto Viejo

Playa Puerto Viejo Review

You can do much better than Puerto Viejo's unnamed, in-town, cluttered, dark-sand beach. Locals, friendly and occasionally a bit sketchy, gather here. The strong undertow makes swimming risky along this stretch, but surfers delight in the consistently good waves. The upside is that you're just a few steps from the in-town restaurants. Amenities: food and drink. Best for: partiers; surfing.
