On a 52-acre working farm near San Antonio village, this newly opened lodge has a half dozen nicely designed rooms and suites for a romantic getaway, along with an open air restaurant and bar serving an interesting fusian of African and Belizean food. On the grounds you'll find with cacao trees, plantain, banana, mango, lemon, and avocado, and garden vegetables, plus wandering turkeys and guinea fowl. The accommodations, some of which overlook a creek, are designed for
privacy. The South African managers use a three-legged iron pot, a "potjie" in Afrikaans, to slow cook meat or fish and vegetables over an open fire, but they also serve Belizean dishes, plus burgers and desserts like cheesecake.
