Aguada Hotel & Restaurant Review
Penny-pinching travelers jump at the opportunity to stay in this tidy, attractive, and inexpensive hotel with air-conditioned rooms and a swimming pool in Santa Elena, the low-key town adjoining San Ignacio. Aguada became so popular that the owners, a Belizean-American couple, added more rooms overlooking the pool, and additional rooms behind the pool. The original budget rooms (starting at BZ$70 plus tax) have A/C but no TVs. There's a restaurant with Belizean dishes and American standards like burgers (closed on Wednesday). In the common room are a TV and games. The hotel offers a shuttle service to and from Belize City.
