Replete with a general away-from-it-all atmosphere, this is a pretty-as-a-picture, protected 17th-century merchant's mansion. In a dreamily quiet residential area by the Kunsthaus (yet just a few tram stops away from the main rail station), this Romantik property is an anti-urban hotel, a gentle antidote to the bustle of downtown commerce. Once a bargain option, today the Florhof pampers guests with its polished wood, blue-willow fabric, and wisteria-sheltered garden. The restaurant serves light, seasonal menus, and meals on the terrace on a summer's night near the Neptune fountain are positively rhapsodical.
