Getting Here and Around

Trains run to St. Gallen from Zürich, clocking in at just over an hour. The S8 commuter runs from Schaffhausen to St. Gallen every half hour, stopping at almost every town along the way. The trip takes almost two hours.

The A1 expressway from Zürich heads for St. Gallen through Winterthur. From the south, the A13 expressway leads from Chur along Liechtenstein to the east end of the Bodensee; from there, take the A1 into St. Gallen. The Altstadt is surrounded by underground parking lots. You'll find entrances on Burggraben, Oberergraben, and Spisertor.
