Fodor's Review:

A beautiful 17th-century mansion built over the ruins of a Roman house in the heart of the historic center jumped to the top of the city's lodging options as soon as it opened. The company in charge specializes in tastefully renovating impressive and historic buildings to the highest of expected modern standards, and this is another exemplary example of its work. Archaeological remains mixed with contempory features, such as clever lighting and a relaxing spa, complete the contemporary-antiquity mélange. Pros: Dazzling lines and decor, impeccable comforts. Con: Not easy to reach by car.
