Kinloch Lodge

Off A851, Isleornsay, Highland, IV43 8QY, Scotland

A luxurious hotel with an equally luxurious restaurant, Kinloch Lodge overlooks the tidal Loch na Dal. The historic buildings date from the 17th century, while the newer South House has the best views and has been solidly built with comfort and relaxation in mind. You're welcomed with a glass of champagne by the friendly, professional staff. Guest rooms, decorated with antiques, fine fabrics, and quilted bedspreads, have views over the water, the hills, or the grounds. The dining room offers food prepared by the hotel's owner, Lady Claire Macdonald, a well-known cookery writer, and head chef Marcello Tully; five courses are £70. A small shop carries great kitchen gadgets as well as jams made by the owner.
