Stempels

Klokhuisplein 9, Haarlem, 2011 HK, Netherlands

These sumptuous guest quarters, stylishly contemporary and painted in sleek, modern slates and creams, are the work of Martijn Franzen and Frans van Cappelle, who transformed what was once a Dutch mint into an elegant hotel. Much of the original interior was saved, so the decor is a stylish blend of old and new, with chandeliers in many public areas and beams and other architectural features in the otherwise modern guest rooms. Bathrooms in the spacious luxury rooms have showers and tubs; others have a shower only. A bar, a reasonably priced brasserie, and upscale restaurant (evenings only) are on the ground floor.
