Why We Like It

Hotel Julia is located in one of the best areas of Rome. Walking around the neighborhood you'll find classic sculptures are nearly every street corner, and you're steps from the luxurious Via dei Condotti shopping strip. While nothing in the hotel really stands out design-wise, the building is clean and cozy, with loving details like exposed brick throughout. Service is exceptional and the staff will do whatever they can to make you feel at home.

Fodor's Expert Review

This boutique hotel, situated on a small cobblestone street just behind Piazza Barberini and a short walk to the Trevi Fountain, offers clean, comfortable rooms in the center of Rome that won't break the bank. Housed in a 19th-century palazzo, guest rooms aren't oozing with character, but they're relatively spacious and clean, as are the bathrooms. There's free Wi-Fi, and honeymooners receive a complimentary bottle of prosecco or wine.

Tip Small pets are allowed here and dog-sitting is available for an additional fee.

Rooms have a thoughtful layout to maximize space. With high ceilings and wooden floors, the rooms manage to stay cool on the hottest of summer days. While the decor is slightly tired, they're all well lit and have comfortable furnishings. Red and gold bedspreads match the wallpaper. A flat-screen TV, Wi-Fi, a safe, refrigerator and tea service is included.

You Should Know Rooms tend to run small, but there are some interconnecting rooms for families.

Bathrooms are very clean and include basic toiletries and a wall hairdryer. There's not much counter space but and tall people may find the the showers very tight.

Enter off the street into a small bright lobby. Besides the check-in desk, there's just a table with city brochures. Staff is helpful with any queries.

The breakfast room is next to the lobby. Walls have portions of exposed brick, a detail reflected throughout the hotel. A welcoming buffet breakfast includes a wide variety of cereals, fruits, and pastries as well as strong Italian cappuccino.
