Fodor's Review

For over a century, this historic seafood restaurant in the shadow of Gallipoli's Aragonese Castle has been serving diners. Built on wooden piles, it seems to float like a ship anchored in the bay by the bridge that connects Gallipoli new town with the island that contains the old borgo. Its flower-filled terrace has outdoor tables in summer. In winter, eat inside and enjoy the same view through the panoramic windows. Try the renowned zuppa di pesce alla gallipolina

(a stew of fish, local red shrimp, clams, and mussels) and the local gamberoni (prawns). To finish up, you can enjoy the melt-in-your-mouth homemade profiteroles.
