The Bulman Bar and Toddies

The Bulman Bar and Toddies Review

Kinsale has other pub restaurants, but none with such an idyllic waterside location midway between the town and Charles Fort. In summer, bar food is served outside at tables on the big stone quay, which looks back to the town and out to the unspoiled outer harbor. The characterful interior has a large open fire most days, and, inevitably, has a maritime theme, with a quirky selection of chairs and tables. The award-winning bar menu is simple, and features fresh local produce: lobster risotto, perhaps, or oysters au naturel from nearby Oysterhaven Bay, or grilled half lobster with an organic leaf salad. Toddies, the first-floor restaurant with a stunning sea view, opens from 6 pm and has a slightly more extensive menu, including fillet steak with Parmesan mash and onion rings, and one or more daily seafood specials.
