Book NowBudapest Marriott Hotel Review
North American-style hospitality on the Pest side of the Danube begins with a buffet of pastries served daily in the lobby. The hotel building is rather boring but its prime Danube location makes for some breathtaking views. Gellért Hill, the Chain and Elizabeth bridges, and Castle Hill are visible from every guest room, as well as the lobby, ballroom, and even the fitness center.

We stayed end of Sept 2008. We decided to get a corner jr suite and if you can fit it into your budget, the sweeping views across the river are spectacular. I think all the rooms have a river view, but be advised that all may not have a view of the castle. Also, as of late Sept 2008 the work at the hotel appears to be wrapping up. We had no impact except the fitness center is relocated to an adjacent building and has minimal facilities.

Currently the Marriott is under renovations which takes away from any atmosphere. We found the service to be very spotty. Lots of conventions here which means very crowds for breakfast. We had breakfast included which was the best anywhere. The hotel is right on a tram stop and only a few blocks from the metro which makes the location very convenient. One of my complaints is that they did not have a dedicated consierge. That makes it difficult to get suggestions on tours or make arrangements.
