A favorite go-to place for students and tourists who want a break from heavy Hungarian cuisine, Hummus Bar is cheap, healthy, and loaded with Middle Eastern vegetarian options. It goes without saying that the hummus is fantastic, but elsewhere on the menu you can find wonderful dishes like a tomato bomb called shakhouka, a spicy vegetable couscous, and the best falafel in the city. Meat eaters will find plenty to love in the grilled chicken and liver dishes. Adventurous diners should try the "Jerusalem Mix," which has both chicken liver and chicken heart. It's all served up with some serious Middle Eastern spice and a complimentary glass of mint tea. This is now a local chain with 10 locations.
