Hilton Budapest

District I, Hess András tér 1–3, Budapest, Budapest, 1014, Hungary

The exterior certainly betrays the hotel's mixed architectural origins–-built in 1977 around the remains of a Gothic chapel–-but the modern and tasteful rooms, proximity to Matthias Church (next door), and great views from Castle Hill will soothe the most delicate of aesthetic sensibilities. You'll have to decide for yourself if the Gothic stonework and 70s tinted gold windows is a successful integration or not but most likely you'll be more interested in the building's prime location and views than its provenance. Rooms with the best Danube vistas cost more.
