U.S. Embassy

The U..S. Embassy in Athens is at the edge of Kolonaki, in a neighborhood of embassies. This is the place to go to replace a lost passport, or to seek advice if you need medical or legal assistance. While the embassy is open to the public on weekdays 8:30 am to 5 pm, it closes for all the Greek and American holidays, so check opening times before making the trek. You may call the main number during off hours with emergencies. The only U.S. consulate in Greece is in Thessaloniki; you will be referred to the embassy in Athens for passport services and most other matters.
