Taxi

Taxis throughout the Sporades are unmetered, so be sure to negotiate your fare in advance or (better) check with your hotel for correct fares. You will find "Piatsa" taxi ranks next to all the harbor ports and airports, and taxis will be lined up even late at night if there is a boat or flight coming in. On the other hand, your hotel can usually arrange a taxi for you, but if you need one in the wee hours of the morning make sure you book it in advance. The prices on the islands are not cheap (compared to Athens or Thessaloniki), and can be as much as €10 to €20 for a 10-minute drive.
