Pirgi Thermis is known for its tower mansions and for its 12th-century church, Panayia Tourlot, near the outskirts of town. The town's onetime big attractions—thermal baths and a lavish spa hotel set in seaside gardens—are now closed; the latter is in a state of sad but romantic ruin.
