Pirgos Mavromichali Review

The fortified, seaside stronghold of the Mavromichali clan, noted for its role in Greek independence, is now an enchanting Mani inn with 13 character-filled rooms and suites set within the walls of a centuries-old tower building and clustered around sun-drenched terraces. The property is located above the turquoise waters of Limeni harbor, just north of Areopolis, with stone walls, wooden floors, vaulted ceilings, and other original architectural touches are complemented by supremely comfortable beds and stylish furnishings. The on-site restaurant presents a gourmet Mediterranean menu highlighting products from Mani. Several charming, present-day Mavromichalis are usually on hand to provide a warm welcome.
