Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg Review

This hotel was famous for being the tallest building in Hamburg and for its outdated interiors. Completed in 1973, its first complete restoration ended at the fall of 2009. After a year and more than $60 million, this is a bold yet welcoming property. The reception desk is gone. In its place are small stations. Light fills the lobby, which has several seating areas, a bar, and several accessible abstract art pieces. Guest rooms have three design styles: Natural, Urban, and New York Mansion. Natural rooms have pale wood and furnishings in earth tones. Urban rooms are filled with bold colors, like mustard yellow and aqua, and darker wood. With its black lacquer accents, dark wood, and turquoise carpet, New York mansion-style rooms have a SoHo loft feel. Because it's connected to the convention center, the Radisson is a favorite of business travelers, and has all the amenities to keep road warriors happy.
