The George Hotel Review

The George is cool hotel in a groovy location that takes itself seriously. At the end of a strip of funky cafés and bars, the George fits right in. It's designed in the New British Style, a dark twist on a English grandmother's cottage. In the small lobby, wingback chairs and textured wallpaper, both covered in shades of black, are illuminated by candlelight. Champagnes, grays, and browns mix in interesting ways throughout guest rooms. Large artistic photographs add life throughout the hotel. Despite the sleek look and the hip guests that populate the hotel, the staff is eager to please. The hotel has a rooftop bar that offers views of the Alster. Guests on the first floor may find the DJ working in the ground-floor bar on weekend nights too loud. Keeping with the British theme, afternoon tea is offered in the bar at 3 pm.
