Thank heavens for this delightful inn. The best time to see the great Château d'Ussé is in early morning light or illuminated at night, and the easiest way to do that is to overnight in the village of Rigny-Ussé here at the home of the famille Duchemin. Eric runs the place, Muriel is in charge of the extremely cozy restaurant, while grand-mère offers a warm smile. Not surprisingly, families will adore this place, especially as three of the rooms are custom-built for them (and rather stylish, to boot). Three rooms have a view of the château, but best of all, a one-minute walk from the front door takes you to the castle gates. Pros: close to château; charming restaurant. Cons: basic guest-room facilities; you-get-what-you-pay-for bathrooms. Mme Duchemin
