Le Relais Louis XI

2 rue St-Pierre, Meung-sur-Loire, 45130, France

King Louis XI built this pretty stable complex in the late 15th century to provide quality accommodations for his horses, knights, and blacksmiths; now it’s been converted into a slick modern hotel. Large-windowed guest rooms manage to be both minimalistic and charming, glowing in white-on-white and chic pastel hues, warmed with working fireplaces. Centered around a spacious courtyard, the picturesque retreat also has a rose garden and a "bio-gastronomic" pink-walled dining room that serves lunch and candlelit dinners (closed Monday; no dinner Sunday, no lunch Tuesday).

  • magical mix of medieval architecture and chic decor
  • bio theme
  • top restaurant
  • free Wi-Fi

CONS
