This little hotel in Vieux Lyon is a winning combination of location, charming staff, tastefully decorated rooms, and moderate prices. Overlooking the Saône at the upstream edge of Vieux Lyon, the hotel's modern design and decor is gracefully juxtaposed with its 16th-century ceiling beams and Renaissance facade. Some rooms have fireplaces, and the smallish upper-floor rooms are charmingly built into the eaves and rooftop dormers. Pros: walking distance (45 minutes up the Saône) from Île Barbe and Bocuse; cozy dormers over the river; handy to but not in the middle of Vieux Lyon. Cons: interior rooms on the air shaft can be noisy; a long walk to the middle of the Presqu'Île.
