Fodor's Expert Review Le Langhe
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
So popular that it has already moved twice to larger premises, this combination café/restaurant/deli specializes in Italian, particularly Piedmontese meats and cheeses. Takeout sandwiches at the deli incorporate a variety of both, as well as artisan olive oils, wines, and other items sourced by the owners. The glass-roofed café serves salads, sandwiches, and house-made pastas such as one with Whitby crab, shallots, and potatoes. All are freshly made with seasonal ingredients. Entreés change daily and might include slow-cooked pork belly, lemon sole, or venison. There's a four-course fixed-price tasting menu for lunch (£24.50) and dinner (£39), served Friday and Saturday in the upstairs restaurant.
