Thames Valley Sights

River & Rowing Museum

River & Rowing Museum Review

This absorbing museum focuses not just on the history and sport of rowing but on the Thames and the town itself. One gallery interprets the Thames and its surroundings as the river flows from its source to the ocean; another explores Henley's history and the regatta. Galleries devoted to rowing display models, and actual boats, from a Saxon log boat to an elegant Victorian steam launch. A Wind in the Willows exhibit evokes the settings of the famous children's book.
