Howard's House

Howard's House Review

If you're after complete tranquillity, head for this early-17th-century house set on 2 acres of grounds in the Nadder Valley. The style is traditional and smart, and a terrace provides alfresco dining overlooking the tidy lawns in summer. Sophisticated contemporary fare makes up most of what's on the set-price menus, such as fillet of wild turbot with goat cheese gnocchi, and breast of guinea fowl with seared foie gras. Nine luxuriously furnished guest rooms may tempt you into forgoing the 10-mile drive back to Salisbury.
