The Russian-made riverboat Kotva was refitted in 2001 and claims to be the fastest on the Vltava. The bands are usually local. Be on time for the shows, as the ship normally leaves at the appointed 8:30 PM departure time. You can also buy food during the cruise, but take cash since credit cards are not accepted.

We went with low expectations but were pleasantly surprised! The band played almost the whole time (8.30 - 11pm) and they were quite good, the atmosphere was romantic, and we saw much more of the city than we had on foot. We didn't order much food but what we had was mediocre - predictable considering we were on a boat. Wines were reasonably priced, though.
On the ticket it says you are not guaranteed a private table, but most of the tables on the boat are for 2 people anyways, so I wouldn't let that deter you. Arrive a bit early to get one of the tables next to the windows.
