Don't be fooled by the dusty approach to the little town of Tel? or the unpromising, unkempt countryside surrounding the place. Tel? is a knockout. What strikes the eye most here is not just its size but the unified style of the buildings. On the lowest levels are beautifully vaulted Gothic halls, just above are Renaissance floors and façades, and all the buildings are crowned with rich Renaissance and baroque gables.
