Attached to the Burgtheater, this was once the carriage vestibule of the emperor's court theater. Today, the Marmorsaal dining room with marble Corinthian columns, coffered arcades, and candlelight adds romance, but don't expect high drama: as an example of Ringstrasse architecture, the Burgtheater offers splendor at its most staid. In fact, you might opt instead for a lighter meal in the adjoining bar salon, with its views of the boulevard. The menu changes frequently, and may include veal goulash and Wiener Schnitzel as well as some classic Beuschel (a hash made of heart and lung, Viennese-style), plus a full array of nouvelle novelties.
