This old house was once the domicile of the Freysauff family, who counted among their close friends Leopold Mozart, the composer's father. Its cellar, the downstairs section of the restaurant, is still called the Freysauff (but don't be misled—this translates into "free drinks"). The restaurant is particularly pleasant, with white-linen tablecloths, candles, flowers, and windows opening onto the street, with a lovely outdoor seating area in summer. Menu selections consist
of local fish, mouthwatering steaks, traditional Austrian dishes, and game in season.
