Off Route 3, just before the exit for pristine Luquillo Beach, something of a culinary renaissance is occurring. Here you’ll find dozens of food shacks or kioskos, some with CIA-trained (Culinary Institute of America) chefs, offering everything from burgers to ceviche to stuffed lobster. Stop in for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or cocktails. Take some time to weigh your options at establishments ranging from no-frills takeout counters to full-service restaurants. Once you’ve made your decision, pull up a seat and get ready to feast—these kioskos are turning out some of the island’s best eats.

No. 2, La Parrilla. Head here for the original kiosko experience and indulge in a lobster or steak as big as your head.

No. 38, Ceviche Hut. Fresh ceviches and classics like pescado a lo macho (fish in Peruvian seafood sauce) are all solid choices.
