Couleurs du Monde

Couleurs du Monde Review

New arrivals from the ferries and those waiting to depart are immediately attracted to this second-floor, waterfront café-cum-art gallery. Under the green canopy, it's shades of Greenwich Village with books and newspapers, teas and coffees, wine, and icy rum cocktails. Contemporary art, primarily from Didier Spindler, lines the walls, there for the buying, and some fab glassware adorns the table. International tapas are the main food source and include sushi and smoked-fish plates, smoked duck salad, and so on, but there is a full menu in place. Seashells are affixed to the menus to keep them from blowin' in the sea breeze. The catch of the day with an exotic sauce is a wise choice. Although the restaurant stays open, lunch service is from noon to 3 pm. After sunset there are aperitifs, and although reservations are requested for dinner, the friendly, accommodating staff will take walk-ins. Finish off with the house-made Punch du Monde.
