Le Touloulou Review
On the curve of Plage de Petite-Anse, this casual eatery has tables in the sand. Stylish Euro furnishings are here, as are marine-blue hammocks—perfect for chilling between courses. Chef José Viator serves the freshest seafood; his standout dish just might be fricassee of conch or octopus with breadfruit. Set menus start at €20-something, and a simple, fresh lobster prix-fixe is €35. For lunch, the best value is the formule rapid. Both the chicken and the ouassous (jumbo crayfish) in coconut sauce are exceptional. And on Saturday and Sunday, the Creole Brunch (from 11 to 4) is particularly celebratory. Pergola's, the circular bar, has the best in rum cocktails for sipping as a sundowner. On weekend nights the anteroom is a dance club, with salsa lessons on Friday and a disco beat on Saturday.
