La Toubana Restaurant (Le Gran Bleu)

La Toubana Restaurant (Le Gran Bleu) Review

Fresh lobsters, which swim in the canals that beautify the deck, draw many diners. The new chef prepares an impressive foie gras duo—a sauté and a torchon—paired with onion and fig compotes. The French cuisine gets a delicious Caribbean infusion, as in the fillet of daurade (fish) with vanilla sauce or the passion fruit tart with meringue. The inside dining room, although open-air, has deep leather chairs, and, on occasion, a piano player and live music by pop-rock vocalists; local music is the norm on Thursday night. You can listen whether you just "take a pop" (drink) or have dinner. Lunch patrons dine on the terrace near the infinity pool. With feet dangling in the water and an exotic cocktail in hand, you can watch the sea churn below.
