Fodor's Review

Wanganui is home to a thriving glass community, with more than 30 glass artists who exhibit internationally. This studio actually comprises two studios, for artisans Katie Brown and Lyndsay Patterson. It's open to the public, who can watch skilled glassblowers at work. A mezzanine retail gallery offers stunning glass pieces for sale. This is also a teaching studio. The masters provide instruction in both regularly scheduled weekend workshops (NZ$390) and one-hour classes

(NZ$100). Even absolute beginners are guided through the hot-glass process to craft their own paperweight.
