This corner café is truly local. It buzzes with the local surfer set, who come for the great local espresso and local organic and free-range food. They cram the couches and Formica tables beneath walls decorated with surfboards and Raglan beach scenes. The menu is huge and the meals hearty, starting with breakfast at 8. All-day meals hail from around the globe—black bean and quinoa burger, or chick pea and corn fritters, for example. The dinner menu (Thursday through Saturday only) changes with the season; green-lipped mussels and cockles with cider, bacon, lemon, and cream is a perennial favorite. There's also a great selection of beers, wines, loose-leaf teas, smoothies, and juices (local and organic, of course).
