The most memorable group-dining experience in the region is the unique, but expensive (A$185 including transfers) Sounds of Silence, an elegant (although heavily attended) outdoor dinner served on a dune that provides sunset views of either Uluru or Kata Tjuta. Australian wines and Northern Territory specialty dishes—including bush salads and Australian game—are served at a lookout before you progress to a buffet meal on tables covered with crisp white linens, right in the desert. An astronomer takes you on a stargazing tour of the southern sky while you dine. A more intimate small-group table d'hôte four-course dinner (maximum 20 diners) is also available, called Tali Wiru, at a different vantage point where tables are set for two, four, or six (A$295). The dining tour includes transport to and from your hotel at Yulara.
